Improved Mobile Coverage for BUCCA

As a result of collaborative efforts by Bundaberg Regional Council and WBBROC, mobile coverage for residents in the BUCCA will be improved.

The BUCCA mobile black spot has been selected to receive funding for a Telstra mobile telecommunications base station, as part of the Australian Government’s $835 million Mobile Black Spot Program.

The government’s Mobile Black Spot Program is to deliver almost 500 new or upgraded mobile base stations around Australia – 429 Telstra base stations and 70 Vodafone base stations. Inclusion in the successful funding applications will mean improved mobile broadband infrastructure near Bucca

This is one of three locations proposed by Council for a telecommunications upgraded, which was successful in what was a competitive nationwide bid for national black spot funding.

Council also identified Goodwood Road between Bundaberg and Childers, and a section of Lowmead Road as priority black spot locations requiring significantly improved mobile coverage
